History of Practice

In 1982, Dr Jerkins began private practice here in Nashville on Blakemore Avenue establishing a close working relationship with Vanderbilt Hospital. The practice grew and an opportunity became available to be one the pioneers in the first medical office building dedicated to ophthalmology on the campus of St. Thomas Hospital. In 1989, Dr. Jerkins carefully decided to move his practice to what became the Nashville Eye Center at St. Thomas.

Dr. Jerkins and Dr. Scott began working in the practice together in 1996 after Dr. Scott completed his work with Vanderbilt and Veterans Hospital here in Nashville. The practice continued to be blessed with growth over the next three years. In 1999, they formed Nashville Vision Associates, PLC.

Then, in April 2002, Dr. Taylor joined them on a part-time basis. This would give them the opportunity to have more physicians and services available to the patients.

In October 2006, Nashville Vision Associates opened an additional Location in Brentwood. The office is located in the Brentwood Medical Center at 343 Franklin Road. This office is right in the heart of Brentwood across from the Kroger shopping center.
