Frank H Scott, M.D.
Dr. Frank Scott is a native of Greeneville, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a Bachelor of Arts degree in zoology. In 1988, he came to Nashville and attended Vanderbilt Medical School. After an internal medicine internship at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, he completed his ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center serving as chief resident during his final year.
In 1996, he joined the Nashville Vision Associates. Dr. Scott served as Division Head for Ophthalmology at St. Thomas Hospital for many years. He spends much of his time outside of work with his wife and 3 children. They enjoy spending time participating in many outdoor activities as well as a variety of the arts.
Rebecca J. Taylor, M.D.

Dr. Rebecca J. Taylor is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. She attended the University of Mississippi followed by the University of Colorado, where she earned a bachelor degree. She received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.
After an internship in internal medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Dr. Taylor completed her ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She remained on the faculty at Vanderbilt’s Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences as an instructor.
Dr. Taylor joined Nashville Vision Associates in 2002. She enjoys time with her family and friends, running, swimming, and cycling.
James F. Conrad, M.D.

Dr. Conrad specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology with expertise in cataract surgery and lens implantation. He has used lifestyle lens implants to help correct astigmatism since 1998. Select patients can benefit from premium multifocal lens implants. Dr. Conrad diagnoses and treats ocular disorders for adults and children 4 years and older. He works closely with many primary care providers and local experts for subspecialty care for retina, cornea and glaucoma problems.

Born in Harrisburg, PA, Dr. Conrad grew up in Ohio and has practiced ophthalmology in Nashville since 1984. His wife, Marty, has been an Adjunct Professor in Community Health at Vanderbilt University. His oldest son, Drew, has a growing family in Knoxville and practices as an Interventional Radiologist. His son, Matt, is an environmental attorney and a software engineer in Sans Francisco. His daughter, Elizabeth, is married, has a PhD in molecular biology and works in Nashville for a small pharmaceutical company. His non-medical interests include sailing, swimming and his grandchildren.
Michael J. Dieckhaus, M.D.

Dr. Dieckhaus is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is trained in comprehensive ophthalmology. He provides a wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for the treatment of various eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Dr. Dieckhaus diagnoses and treats both adult and pediatric eye disorders. He works closely with area sub-specialists and uses the latest implantable lens technology.

Originally from Missouri, Dr. Dieckhaus has spent over a decade studying and working in Nashville and he is especially excited about building his practice and his family in the Nashville area. His wife is a pediatric occupational therapist in Franklin. He loves to spend time with his wife, 2 daughters, and their golden retriever. Dr. Dieckhaus is an avid Vanderbilt sports fan (with all the heartbreak that entails) and he enjoys attending sporting events as well as playing golf and basketball in his free time.
Jordan L. Herring, M.D.

A native of Nashville, TN, Dr. Herring graduated from Baylor University in Waco, TX with a degree in English. He earned his medical degree from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. He then completed his internship at Brookwood Baptist Health in Birmingham, AL, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. He finished training with a fellowship in surgical glaucoma at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. He feels fortunate to have experienced the unique personalities of these wonderful communities and regions during his educational journey and is grateful for the relationships built along the way. His wife Glory is a pediatrician, and they are both excited about returning to their hometown to start practicing. In his free time, he enjoys learning about local history, listening to live music, reading books about medical history, and hiking in Appalachia and the Southern Rockies.

Walter W. Frey, M.D. — RETIRED

Walter w. Frey, M.D. retired on August 1. We thank him for his years of compassionate care and kindness to both patients and staff. Dr. Jordan Herring joined the practice to continue offering that same compassion and care.
